What to expect

In an ageing society, in which a growing older population is holding an ever-increasing percentage of national assets, how can organisations – public, private and charitable – create products, services and environments that are not only needed, but desired, by older people?

Join a panel of expert researchers, designers, innovators and healthy ageing advocates to explore a not-too-distant future in which those over 65 years will account for 63p in every pound spent.

Most of us are aware that our population is getting older, and with rapid accelerations in technology, healthcare, and design, we may soon have a population that is not only older but also healthier, wealthier, and wiser, than ever before. How might we spend these potential extra healthy years?

In this final session of the ‘Designing for Your Future Self’ talk series, Design Age Institute and its partners will share insights into the future of ageing and the ways in which design can support everyone to experience a healthy, independent and joyful later life.
