We're open on bank holidays, closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Please note that The World of Tim Burton exhibition will be open until 20:00 on Fridays and Saturdays during April and May. This exhibition is very popular, so we recommend booking tickets in advance. Don't forget that Members can visit at any time.

MEMBERS GO FREE
Members enjoy unlimited entry to all exhibitions, even when tickets are sold out. Members don't need to book in advance, simply present your digital membership card.
Become a Member to enjoy a whole year of design, plus discounts in our events, shops and cafes.

PERMANENT COLLECTION
Our collection display Designer Maker User is free to visit, located on Level 2. This exhibition and other free displays do not require a ticket, but self-guided learning groups must pre-book their visit.

MUSEUM SHOPS
The museum has three shops: the High Street Shop is located outside the main building, the Atrium Shop and Exhibition shop are located on the Ground floor. The shops' opening hours follow the museum's opening hours.

ONLINE SHOP
You can shop our curated ranges online. Visit designmuseumshop.com to find amazing gifts for design lovers or treat yourself with inspiring products and publications.

EAT & DRINK
Visitors can enjoy hot drinks and snacks at the Design Cafe (located on the Ground floor), and meals or afternoon teas at the Design Kitchen (located on Level 2). Click here for more information.

Please note that the Design Kitchen will be closed all day on Tuesday 20 May, Thursday 22 May, Friday 23 May and Thursday 10 July 2025. The Design Cafe will remain open.

CARD PAYMENTS
The museum only accepts digital/card payments across the museum.

LOCKERS
There are storage lockers (located on Level -1) which are subject to availability and require a £1 coin (non-refundable). If you don't have coins, you can purchase £1 tokens at the museum shop and pay by card. At busy times, there may be a wait until lockers become available.
