Design Ventura 2022–2023
From 28 April, visit our Design Ventura new display showcasing the shortlisted and winning projects from our national schools' competition.
The programme is a Design Museum initiative created in partnership with Deutsche Bank’s global youth engagement programme Born to Be to encourage students aged 13 to 16 to create product ideas and learn about the design process.
Delivered in partnership with Deutsche Bank and now entering its thirteenth year, our annual design competition invites schools to compete and have a winning product idea manufactured and sold in the Design Museum shop. Since 2010 over 128,000 students have participated in the project.
DESIGN BRIEF 2022–23
This year's competition brief went live on 5 September 2022, set by Selasi Setufe MBE, Senior Architect and Innovation Sites Manager at Born to Be, and Co-founder of Black Females in Architecture.
Applications closed on 23 February 2023. Shortlisted entries attended a pitching day event at Deutsche Bank in March.
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at the museum at the end of April 2023. This will be followed by a two-month exhibition of shortlisted and winning entries at the museum.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
The winning team will work with professional designers to develop and manufacture their product idea to be sold in the Design Museum Shop from Autumn 2023.
