Design Ventura 2023–2024

Delivered in partnership with Deutsche Bank and now entering its fourteenth year, Design Ventura invites schools to enter a competition to have their product idea manufactured and sold in the Design Museum Shop. Since 2010 over 180,000 students have participated in the project.

The 2023–2024 competition brief has been set by Kangan Arora, a South London-based designer specialising in textiles.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Teachers are offered training and resources to develop their own professional practice and to run the project in school with the support of design and business industry experts.
Students, working in teams, are asked to consider the whole process of design, from initial ideas to manufacturing and budgets to marketing and branding.

WINNERS' ANNOUNCEMENT
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at the museum in April 2024. This will be followed by a two-month exhibition of shortlisted and winning entries at the museum.
The winning team will work with professional designers to develop and manufacture their product idea to be sold in the Design Museum Shop from Autumn 2024.

SUBMISSIONS
Deadline to enter the competition was 21 February 2024. Thanks to all schools that applied.
The top ten state school proposals are invited to a pitching event at Deutsche Bank London head office.
International and Independent schools are welcome to participate but will compete for a different, separate prize.
For this year, there will also be a themed online mini challenge for students in years 7-11.
