The Design Museum Library and Archive
Our library is a valuable resource for the study of contemporary design and architecture.
The Design Museum Library contains books on architecture, product and furniture design, fashion and graphic design, transport and digital. The collection also holds a wide range of contemporary architecture and design magazines.
Please note that the library will remain closed until further notice. When the library reopens, everybody will be welcome to browse through the archive.
No food zone. A café is located on the ground floor of the museum. Bottled water and take away tea and coffee cups are permitted.
The Library is the gateway to the Design Museum Archive. The Archive’s role is to organise and preserve the Design Museum’s historical records, covering its origins as the Boilerhouse Project and its twenty-five years of exhibitions and learning programmes at Shad Thames.
Please note: The Design Museum Archive is not currently available for research access.
The collection spans all aspects of design including architecture, fashion, furniture, product and graphic design, digital media and transport.
