MATCH BALL, 1930 WORLD CUP FINAL

See the 12-panel ball supplied by Argentina for the first half of the game and Uruguay’s 11-panel ball for the second half of the final match that made Uruguay the first-ever winner team of the World Cup.

PELÉ’S KIT, 1958 FIFA WORLD CUP

The original Brazilian national top worn by Pelé during the 1958 FIFA World Cup game where he scored two of Brazil’s five goals against Sweden in the final, marking the beginning of his career as an international football star at just 17 years old.

MATTHIAS SAMMER’S WORN BOOTS, 1994

Sammer pleaded with Nike to wear his Adidas boots, which he argued were more comfortable. After several discussions, it was agreed he could wear his own shoes if he covered the Adidas trademark three stripes with a handmade Nike logo.

WOMEN’S FOOTBALL KIT, 1895

An important look into the gendered history of football shows that prior to the FA’s 50-year ban on women’s football, the game used to be incredibly popular as a spectator sport, with teams like Dick, Kerr Ladies F.C.

SKY BLUE MATCH-DAY PROGRAMME, 1970-71

With a unique style of bold typography and striking imagery, British designer John Elvin’s works for Coventry City’s Sky Blue 1970-71 match-day programme marked a change in programme design.
