What to expect

This major exhibition invites visitors to explore Tim Burton’s remarkable creations and key collaborations with designers and makers. While most well-known for his cinematic work, the exhibition celebrates the full extent of Burton’s creative talents as an illustrator, painter, photographer and author.

Drawn from Burton’s personal archive from childhood to the present day, this collection of drawings, paintings, photographs, sketchbooks, moving-image works, sculptural installations, models, set and costume designs manifest recurrent preoccupations, motifs and magic.

This group tour will explore exhibition highlights to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of Burton’s influences, practice and impact.

Facilitator

Edward Richards

Richards studied Graphic Design at Camberwell College of Arts and since 2002 has enjoyed delivering British Sign Language tours in museums and galleries to the Deaf community. In addition, he has given socio-documentary photography talks on artists including Robert Frank and Elton John’s ‘The Radical Eye’ exhibition at Tate Modern.
